From my point of view, we should change ourselves when the situation can’t be changed any more. Difficulties hide in every corner of our life so we have to face them at times. But the problem is that we sometimes are not able to change the challenging situations at all as our abilities are limited. When it comes, we’d better change our attitude towards these difficulties. Only in this way can we get rid of the tough surroundings and be happy.

Something like that happened to me once. There was a time when I was laughed at by my classmates while I was walking. I was puzzled so I asked them why they laughed at me. One of them told me that the way I walked was very strange and funny. I was sad but I just couldn’t change the way I walked. And the situation of being laughed at by those people didn’t stop. Therefore, I changed my attitude towards the incident. I ignored those comments on me and walked as I used to. The comments soon disappeared and I was so glad to have succeeded in the quiet war.

So in my opinion, we should change ourselves first and then the situation can be changed at last. It is very difficult for us to change our surroundings but much easier to change ourselves. People around us will see our change, after which they may change their attitude toward us.

Don’t indulge yourself. If we indulge ourselves, we will meet more terrible suffering in our later life. I know that when we find our weakness, we may say that I will never do that again, and regret doing so meaningless thing. I am such a fool. But when we meet similar situations next time, we will still tell ourselves that it doesn’t matter that I do it again. Then we will indulge ourselves to expand our disadvantages. It shows that some people who have no own principle will fail to realize their promises. When we can overcome our laziness, we will understand that solving some problems may be not so difficult. Therefore, we should try our best to control ourselves to pursue higher development.

There are no any excuses to indulge yourself. We should tell ourselves that we are capable to overcome our weakness, though it needs much time. However, if we succeed once, then we will be successful again. Last, we don’t indulge ourselves. We will become more complete.

On the other hand, each of us is naturally endowed with diverse both qualities and personalities, which makes us unfold an apparently distinct character. Then, it is hard for one to change his nature fundamentally. Regardless of whether nature is innate or habitus acquired, they were both a consistently developing courses that cannot be easily changed in a short time. Last but not the least, external influencing factors, like religious, education and even social institutions can merely direct our nature on account of the most limited control. Thus, it is only the surface that is capable of alteration, improvement and refinement.

In a word, the basic nature of human beings does not and cannot change and also no one can fundamentally change his nature in the short time. But people can make it perfect.
